Driscoll Visit

We drove to Driscoll to spend time with My Sister, Josie and her family and at the same time to attend a funeral in Kingsville.  Our Cousin, Valentin Trevino Falcon passed away on Saturday so we attended the services.  We got to see My Brother, Jesse and his wife, too.  Saw several family members we had not seen in a long long time.  The service was very nice and it was a Military Service.  Pictures shown were very touching....

We spent the night in Driscoll and got to meet the newest addition to our family.....and the family grows!  Elijah Michael....he is so cute!

Schulenburg Churches

On our way back from Houston, we stopped at Frank's Restaurant for lunch.  Food was great.  We had made plans to stop by this town to see the beautiful churches they are known for.  Schulenburg is known as the "Official Home of the Painted Churches".  We pass through here many times on our way to Houston and had been wanting to visit these churches.  Today was a good day so we visited three of the five churches.  These churches have a lot of history and they are just beautiful.  Enjoy the pictures.

The first we visited was St. Mary's Catholic Church which was established by Austrian settlers in the 1800s.  This Church has been placed in the National Registry of Historic Places.

This Church is so beautiful.  On to the next one.  They are only a few miles from each other.

This is a very simple church and it reminds me of the old church in Driscoll, where we grew up.

The Freyburg United Methodist Church was established by German settlers in the 1800s.
