Tuesday at KOA

Today was a relaxing, easy-going day.  Phil and Gisele, Janet Lambe and Richard and Patsy King arrived today.  We just sat out and visited until it got dark on us.  There is a Monaco Rally going on.  Bunches of Monacos and we hear that Joe and Sandy Huntley are among this group.  A lot of nice and friendly people.

Joe and Janet worked on their coach lighting most of the afternoon.

Monday, Just Monday

This morning, we decided that we would move to another park after Joe & Janet still had no water.  The lady had come to fix the water faucet but when Joe connected, water was all on him as the faucet broke again.  When Joe told her about it and told her what she needed to repair it right, she told him he did not know what he was talking about and said she would have to go into town.  We knew it would not be a good day so we decided to leave that park and go to Cut N Shoot.  By that time, Mark Didelot had been in touch with us and he had said he may not come at all.  He made contact with our Wagon Master and they decided to change the rally to KOA in Montgomery so we headed there instead.

We drove the motorhome to hook up the car and the guy next door moved his truck back in our spot.  It had been a very uncomfortable stay there so we are glad to be out.

We had a nice 40 mile or so drive following The Bechards…

P1060169

At KOA, they were already expecting us but they did not think we would arrive within 10 minutes of talking to Mark Didelot.  Thank you, Mark for making arrangements.

Arrived at Red Oak Ranch

Janet and Joe had called that they had to move a couple of times already because of problems and I thought this is because this was their first time at this park.  She said it was awfully muddy; she got fire ants all over her and the water connections were under water…. It had rained a lot, so I thought OK. They finally found a 50 amp spot but had to ask the RV beside the site if they knew whose car was parked there and the guy said it was his car and he would move it.  They could tell he was not too happy about it, but he moved.

We arrived and proceeded to find a spot. There was only one 50 amp up in the front but there were two RAM trucks parked on it.  Manuel wanted to park at a 30 amp but I volunteered to knock at the RV I suspected was using this as a parking lot.  I knock once, twice, then walked off since the front door was open but no one answered! Then a gentleman called out and asked if I had been knocking at his door.  I said “Yes, I was wondering if you may know who is parked on this space” and he said “why?” so I told him we would like to park there.  He proceeded to ask me how long we would be there and so finally, he said, “OK I will move my trucks”.

He went to get his keys, I imagined, but out came a Bleached Blonde Bull!  She proceeded to interrogate me; asked how long we would be there and if we had reservations and such.  I told her we were scheduled here for a rally and that we would be here from Sunday to Sunday.  I was nice to her until she got ugly and she told me she had this spot reserved for her snowbird friends.  I then told her we would like this spot and she said you can have it tonight but Michele may make you move tomorrow.  I said, who is Michele and she told me she was the manager.  I told her I would deal with Michele tomorrow!  She was so ugly and tried intimidating me but I am done with these type of people.

Two minutes later, there is a lady rushing towards me and calling me.  We had just parked the RV and were not even done plugging in.  I responded to the lady and she also came at me very strongly and I explained to here that we were here for a rally and that our wagon master had made our reservations.  She said there was no rally that she knew of.  I told her we were with the Lone Star Allegros and that our Wagon Master knew we were coming in today.  I told her we would speak to the manager in the morning and she said, I am the Manager. She said she had talked to someone about this rally but that was months ago and that she had not heard from anyone so she did not think it was happening.  She proceeded to ask me how many people were coming and for how long and all that crap!  I told her that our wagon master must have talked to someone about it as we had had communication about it about a week ago.  She said who is it and I hated to volunteer any information to her but I gave her Richard Brinlee’s name.  She said I will be right back and took off!

She left and came back about 30 minutes later and parked in front of the blonde bull’s RV, who had tattled about us wanting to park there. She went in and stayed in there at least 20 minutes, as we waited outside our coach.  Now, if that is not rude, what is?!  I felt like leaving and not coming back here, honestly!  Good thing Manuel was calm!

In the meantime, Joe and Janet waited with us.  He had trouble with his spot because there is no water spout to connect his water.  He had seen the “Manager” in the laundry room and asked her if there was a host/manager and she said no there is no one. Wow!  She is so bad! Liar!

Anyway, she finally came out after at least 20 minutes and told us we could have the spot and that the Bechards could also park where they were.  She told them she would come at 7:30 am to fix their faucet.  Will see if she does or Joe is leaving!

She then said she had been trying to communicate with Nancy for some time now and they had been playing phone tag.  At this point, I am really upset.  She has lied through her teeth again and again.  I was so upset.  I have finally calmed down but these people are rotten!

Okay, for my blog:  While we were waiting, I took pictures cause I really think this is a neat park just don’t know if we will ever come back here!  No one deserves to be treated this way.  I am a customer just like all the others.

Sunday Drive to Hempstead, TX

We are scheduled, or we thought we had reservations at Red Oak Ranch (more on this later).  We drove from Boerne, TX to Hempstead, TX.

Destination is Red Oak Ranch for the Lone Star Allegro Rally which will be held from Friday through Sunday.

We had a very pleasant drive with Janet following us all the way to Sealy. There, we turned off to Hempstead and she kept on going into Spring.  The Bechards took a different route but we met up in Hempstead.
