Shopping at The Market Square

We spent a few hours and most of the ladies with the WWWs bought something.

It rained a little while we were here.  The Fiesta booths are all set up and people  are all ready to party for the next 10 days.

These guys are here to party hardy!  I hate to be around here at 5 pm.....it gets wild.

On To Mi Tierra Restaurant

We traveled from River Center Mall to the Market Square area to have lunch at Mi Tierra Restaurant...

We are now at The Market Square.

Today is the first full day of Fiesta in San Antonio.  There are big crowds everywhere...

Mi Tierra is well known for its delicious food and the decor and lights....

Janet, Sharon and I are really having a great time.

Everyone is checking out the murals on walls painted by a local artist....

The mural consists of famous or well known Hispanics.  Many of them are local.

   

Selena, Tejano Music Artist who was killed in 96 by her Fan Club Manager.  Bill Clinton visited the restaurant while he was president.

I was tired of Mexican food so I had a hamburger....it was great!

We all had a great meal then went across the breezeway to the Market....

Full Day of Events on Friday

The WWWs started the day with a complimentary continental breakfast by the Park's General Manager, Kathy.

We had Krispy Kreme donuts, Kolaches, OJ and Coffee.....it was all great!

She also provided each coach with a complimentary goodie bag which consisted of two Blazing Star coffee cups and to key chain flashlights.

This was a great surprise.  I had her come to our gathering this morning so she could welcome the group and we thanked her back.

By 10 am, we were on the road to the downtown area for some touring....the Tower of The Americas on the left and the Alamo Dome on the right.

We arrived at the Rio San Antonio Cruises ticket booth....

We all got our tickets and boarded....

Everyone is enjoying the tour and the history of San Antonio River...

The Arneson River Theatre.   They have some nice summer shows here.  Parts of the "Miss Congeniality" movie with Sandra Bullock took place at this theatre.
