Our days have been busy and we are all tired but as soon as we ate, we headed out again.
Larissa and Arianna wanted to take pictures of all the airplanes displayed at Ceremony Field. They did not realize the walk was very long.
With ipads in hand, we are ready....
They are working on the plane....they are sanding it down and getting it ready to paint.
A little history on it... It is a very interesting plane.
Oh, the B-17. Manuel and I have done a lot of research on this plane since it was used in WWII. My dad flew on these planes....
My Dad was not on these campaigns but was on the 390th, 351st Bomb Squadron during WWII.
We had not even realized there was a B-17 here at Lackland...
We are half way around this huge square and Arianna is now telling me that her feet are hurting. I made her realize I can not carry her as my arm is hurt. She understood and kept on walking.
There is Grandpa waiting for us....It is such a beautiful day; it is so cool and overcast.
Ariana can hardly wait to tell him that her feet are hurting....
Grandpa drove us to another section that had more planes..... As soon as Ariana sat in the car, she took off her shoes and socks and sat back. She fell asleep within two minutes and was actually snoring loud. We could not believe she was out that quick.
The SR-71 Black Bird. This is supposed to be the fastest plane or used to be.
This plane is so nicely displayed....
On to the coach for a good break. More to come.
