We visited the National WWII Memorial. First, we saw the 4D movie, “Beyond All Boundaries” with stories and words of actual WWII participants. The special effects in this movie were amazing. The seats shook as if you were in an actual bombing, very interesting.
The museum did not allow flash so I did not take many pictures…
The Museum.
The Theatre.
We stopped to meet this WWII Veteran, Bob Bannon . He was a Radio Operator with the 348th Squadron and flew on many B17s. He was cute.
I asked him if I could take his picture and he said sure. After I took the picture, he said “May I see the picture?” I showed him the picture and he said “That sure is a good looking guy, Isn’t he?” Of course, I agreed with him. After talking to him for a bit, we thanked him again for his service and left.
Seeing him, brought me many memories of my Dad. He was a WWII Veteran and just thinking that this is the age my Dad would be now. My Dad passed away at 49 so I think he would look this age.
A display that showed all the ships at sea and the B17s and others firing from above…
The American Flag with only 48 states.
These are some nice, old buildings.
The French Truck…
Over the Mississippi again.
More to come…tomorrow, we plan to visit a couple of Plantations.
