Mary Boggs and Jesse Soto called us and said they would be in New Braunfels, River Road, for the weekend. We made a trip there on Saturday for a visit with them. Manuel Jr. and the Girls went with us. They enjoyed being in the river. It was a hot day so the cool water was good.
Arianna and Ava (Mary’s Granddaughter) enjoyed themselves.
Arianna took a picture of Quincy, Corina’s pup, as we dog sat this long weekend. Arianna loves Q as much as she loved Charlie. Corina is traveling this weekend.
Manuel has not felt good most of the summer but he has been wanting to go to a casino. Yesterday, he told me he wanted to go to Coushatta since he felt good and was without fever for a couple of days and had no pain. So I got on the phone and made reservations to go on a tour bus trip for an overnight trip to Kinder, LA. We had to be at the bus stop at 5:30 am for a 6:30 am take off. We will return tomorrow evening.
We made two stops along the way so it was a pretty good trip.
We had two Lady Drivers. This is one of them. Did not get a picture of the other one.
It rained most of the way to Kinder and most of the way back. We even got a little rain in San Antonio.
Here we go to have some fun! Manuel did pretty good the first two hours we were there. His must have known why he wanted to come do a little gambling. I came out even but we both had a very nice time and it sure was nice to get away at least for a little while.
I had told Janet Lambe we were on our way to Kinder as we drove through Houston. By the time we got to the casino, Janet Bechard was texting us. They were at the casino already and found out they were only a couple of rooms from where we were staying. We made plans to meet and they came over to our room for a little while. We then went to dinner and the played….
It was really nice to see Janet & Joe as we have not seen any of our friends in a good while.
We also made plans to to meet the Bechards for breakfast in the morning before they head home. Our bus will take off at 1:30 pm from the casino. This means that we will go through Houston at around 5 pm (traffic hour).

We were in heavy traffic going home, as expected. We ended getting home at 10:30 pm as we had two passenger stops to make. We were pretty tired when we got home. Manuel was exhausted but he was so glad we had made the trip.
Lari started 6th Grade at TMI (Texas Military Institute) this week. She began school one week before Ari.
She is very excited to start school. Wish you all the best this year Larissa. Love You.
Lari invited me to attend Orientation with her. We are at the Chapel here. Grandpa was not feeling well today so he did not attend.
Meanwhile, Ari enjoys her last week at home. She is also very excited about starting school next week.
We made a day trip to Eagle Pass, TX to do a little gambling. We see the casino advertised a lot and many family and friends have been there. This casino is about 2 hours away. We were impressed with the casino as it is pretty big. It is not as big as Coushatta but it is nice and much closer.
We enjoyed our time at the casino.
On Saturday, August 2, we invited Manuel’s Brothers and Sisters to come to dinner at our home. We had a delicious meal and a great time together. Here are some pics…

Everyone sings Happy Birthday to Manuel. He will turn 68 on Tuesday!
We had German Chocolate cake, Lemon cake and banana pudding. It was all delicious!
