Ramiro & Mikayla Visit

Ramiro is Sone Esparza’s youngest son.  His daughter, Mikayla was on spring break so he also took the week off.  They decided to come to San Antonio for a few days.  He called us on Wednesday that he would like for us to meet them for breakfast at Mi Tierra for breakfast.  We did and had a very nice visit. I only took a couple of pictures.

I do not know what I did to my phone but I could only take B & W pictures!    Here is Ramiro and Mikayla as we ate breakfast.  Mikayla is 10 years old and she is a 5th grader.

We enjoyed the musicians……

After breakfast, we headed home as Manuel was not feeling well.  They went on and began their touring.  He later sent me a picture of Mikayla as they are ready to take the carriage tour.

Batch of Pictures of Trip

The Spring Break vacation ended on Friday night when they returned to San Antonio.  On Saturday, Manuel and the girls came over to visit all afternoon.  Manuel Sr. had not been feeling well for the last couple of weeks and as you can imagine, seeing them made his day and of course Mine, too.  These two little girls are the most wonderful granddaughters that anyone can ask for.  Anyway, they were so excited about their trip and had so many pictures on their phone to share.  I will post some, as they had a bunch of pictures.

More of D.C.

The Girls woke up early this morning to have breakfast and on to do some touring.  It is a bit cold out today.  It is in the 50’s.

Next they visited the Department of Treasury/U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing.  Here they show how U.S. paper currency is printed, staked, cut and examined for defects.  They do not produce coins here.  This was a very interesting place to tour.

Today, they also visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.  They spent the day around the  National Mall in Washington DC.  They enjoyed dinner at Pot Belly Restaurant which Lari said was delicious.

They have enjoyed this trip so much.

On To Washington D.C.

It has been wonderful that Lari has texted me all along this trip.  Having her own phone has made it awesome.  I have to tell you what she told me when I asked her if she had checked the pictures I posted on the blog.  She said, “Yes, Grandma, but you need to work on your sentences”.  I thought this was so funny.  I can see her point, though.  I am used to posting my pictures with very little wording and this is not proper.  They are incomplete sentences.

On The Road Again!

Lari says they came in from The Grand Ole Opry at 12:30 and had to get up at about 4:30 am to be on the road by 6:00 am.  She took this picture of this beautiful flower arrangement at the hotel lobby.  Then later, she took a picture of the mountains as they drove through Virginia.  She says there are a lot of beautiful mountains.  She is enjoying the scenery while her Sis, Ari is sleeping.

They arrived in Washington D.C.  by 6 pm and headed to drive by some of the sights they will be visiting during the week.  The White House  and  The Smithsonian…

They headed to the hotel for some rest as they will start their day early tomorrow.

Much more to come!

The Girls on Spring Break 2014

The pictures I am posting are pictures that Lari is taking while they are on their Spring Vacation.  They had invited us to go on this trip with them but since we are so near in closing on our new home and the broken collar bone problems I am having we could not go.

They headed out yesterday after school and their destination is Washington D.C.  I told her to email me pictures so I could create this blog post for her and Arianna.

This morning she emailed me the first pictures from their stay at the Gaylord Hotel in Nashville, TN.  They are excited to be on this trip.  This hotel is just beautiful!  We had an opportunity to stay at this hotel, while we were in the Nashville area a few years ago, Manuel Jr. was having a conference here and we came to visit him here.

Lari says this picture was taken from the balcony of their room.  Lari sitting out in the balcony.
