Scenic Drive from Rapid City to Thermopolis, WY

We got on the road early this morning for our 400 mile drive, today.  The drive was beautiful...   Enjoy the pics.

 

There were many cyclist on this highway.....

The Big Horn National Forest is just beautiful...looks like they had a festival yesterday....

Pretty church and a metal buffalo in the foreground.

Horses everywhere here.

 

Many still celebrate today.....after the 4th.

There is snow on some mountain tops....

 

This highway is very curvy and up and down the peaks....elevation was over 9,000.

We made several stops to check out the scenic looks....

We arrived at our destination, Thermopolis, and we really enjoyed our drive.

Scenic Drive Today

We traveled quite a bit but it was so scenic that it did not seem like it was a long drive at all.  We had a great day traveling to see these awesome places.

Just as we left the Devil's Tower, the sky began to get really dark.   We got some rain along the way.  Sure was nice to see rain.

This biker had to stop to get his rain gear on....

 

 

We are back in South Dakota....

We made a quick stop at the Black Hills National Ceremony...

 

These guys were just having a good old time!!!

 

We had a wonderful day through some of the most beautiful countryside....Thank you Jesus for allowing us this awesome trip!
