Historic Village–La Villita

The Guys went on to tour Lackland AFB and The Parade of Planes, Base Exchange, The Airman Museum and then had lunch at the Officers NCO Club.  George Franklin took pictures on that outing so this is where you can look and see what they did….  Give him about a week to get his blog going again.  Follow it at:  franklingeopat@blogspot.com

They met the Director of the Museum at the Parade of Planes and he invited them to visit the museum.  He took their picture and he was waiting for them when they got their. They had a great day!  George shared this picture.

These little shops were homes back in the 1800s.

Fiesta is in the air…all around town.  Fiesta started today with the Strawberry Festival in Poteet, TX.

Caught Channel 12 video taping for the NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio) Days which are held here at La Villita.  Next week, this place will be packed with Fiesta-goers.  Glad we came today.

This little Church is just beautiful.  We have had nieces and nephews marry here.

We got hungry so we decided to have lunch here which was recommended by shop patrons.

We were greeted at the door…                         This must be the best and only place!

The ceiling was very interesting….pictures of La Loteria, Mexican Bingo.

They have Folklorico evening shows in the summer time at the Arneson River Theatre.

Just as we were leaving La Villita, saw where they were setting up for an afternoon wedding.

We had a very nice, relaxing day at The Shops at La Villita.

Next, we will visit The Japanese/Chinese Gardens which used to be Sunken Gardens.
