Picatinny Army Base, NYC and Summit, NJ

The community of Clinton, NJ was very picturesque. The small downtown area had many shops, cafes and was just beautifully decorated for the fall.
This river with a water fall was right downtown. Note the red building that houses the water powered wheel. On the opposite side of the river, there is an artist painting this beautiful scenery.
In passing through the small towns, we passed this beautiful, huge maple tree that is right by a small church and cemetary. It is said that this tree is at least 200 years old.
We stopped to visit a shrine on the way also. It is called The Shrine of St. Joseph. They had many sculptures along the grounds. Very beautiful.
Many candles are lite in this room.
We ate at Cara Mia Italian Restaurant after we left the Broadway Play. The food was very good and so was the company, Joe & Sylvia. This is their favorite place to eat when in NYC.
Times Square. So many lights and signs.....just awesome sight.
This was taken at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre where we attended the Broadway Play "Grease". They had excellent actors, singers and the music was beautiful. We really enjoyed this play.
This is Vinny Fontane.
Rydell High. I took a couple of pictures before the actual play started. No photo taking was allowed but I snuck a few.....stopped before I was escorted out!
As we left the Play, Sylvia took a picture of us. It was a great day in NYC.
This was taken from atop the Marriott New York Marque Hotel. Manuel and Joe went up there to have a drink while Sylvia and I shopped at the Garment District.
More of Times Square...
Really enjoyed our time with Joe and Sylvia.
We are on the NJ Transit System Train into NYC. We had breakfast at Joe and Sylvia's then headed out to NYC.
I took a picture of the conductor as he picked up our tickets and he commented to me that I had not taken his good side, so I took an other picture. People have been nice to us while in NYC.
Waiting for the Train in Summit, NY.
Joe and Sylvia waiting, too.
Manuel and Joe buying the tickets.
This is our site at the park that Picatinny Arsenal Army Base recommended for military/personnel. Mahlon Dickerson Reservation is up on a mountain and it is a beautiful drive here from the base which is about 3 miles away. I took several pictures as I followed Manuel here from the base.
The entrance to Mahlon Dickerson Reservation which is contracted for RVers by Picatinny Arsenal Army Base. Very nice park.
Took plenty of pictures of the Motorhome on the move.....
Many hills and curves.
We stopped to take a few photos on the way. The autumn folliage is just beautiful.
Today, Thursday, we visited with Richard and Patsy who shared more maps and info with us. We moved to Mahlon Dickerson Reservation Park which is contracted by Picatinny Arsenal Army Base. This is a beautiful park. These pictures are on the way to the park. I followed Manuel there since we unhooked at the Base. Isn't this just so colorful and beautiful?!!

1st Day in NJ/NYC

New York City at night. We thought Las Vegas was the city of lights.....well NYC is beautiful at night as well as daytime. We enjoyed our guided tour today by Richard and Patsy King. We walked, walked, ate dinner and then walked some more. We rode the subway into downtown and back to the RV Park. Had a great time.

Times Square.
Rode the subway back to our RVs. Richard and Patsy showed us a really nice day since they are experts getting around the City.
Manuel as we find the right subway to get home.
Macy's toy area. They had huge stuffed animal displays. This Macy's had 8 floors. It is a huge store.
The salesman offered to take our picture by a huge stuffed elephant.
We had coffee and a snack at the Au Bon Pain on the 8th floor in Macy's.
More pictures ...

The waiter took our photo as we had dinner at Olive Garden. The restaurant is spread out over three floors.

They had the M&M Store and a Hershey Store.

Hot Dog Stands at almost every corner.
Carnegie Hall......

Trump Tower was beautiful. It had beautiful water falls and cafe.
We went into Tiffany's and walked around. It was really nice, too. These guys riding these buggy tricycles are like taxis. They wait outside the stores to drive people from store to store. It is a lot of walking.
The department stores are really nice and are several stories high. They have neat display windows.
This picture is on the building right across the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral. It is odd because it is the first thing you see as you exit the cathedral.
This is St. Patrick's Cathedral. The architecture is awsome. These pictures don't do it much justice. The place is huge. I think this is where Thalia, the Mexican Novela star and Singer, got married to Tony Motola, the Producer. Many other famous people have married here.
The inside of St. Patrick's Cathedral.

This is the St. Thomas Cathedral. There are many churches in the Manhattan area.
We are on the subway into NYC. The ride there was quick.
Subway.....

We started our day by having breakfast with Joe and Sylvia Ramirez, cousins from Summit, NJ. Joe is originally from Robstown, TX and Sylvia is originally from Alice, TX.
