We are excited about visiting the 390th.
B-17
They have a big portrait of one of the pictures we had....
The Wall of the Flight Crew Groups....we went through each and every one of them.
I was half way through the museum when Manuel calls me. He has been speaking to the Executive Director of The Museum. He shows him the information we have, which include pictures and he is very interested. He invited us to his office and we spent a good while there with him and his research person, Bill. They scanned all the pictures we had and even took the time to take serial numbers of some of the aircraft of the pictures we had for their research.
It was a real pleasure meeting the folks here at the museum. We were invited to come back on Thursday to meet Mr.. Richard Bushong, who will be speaking here at the museum. He was a 390th Pilot. We are looking forward to meeting and speaking with him.
Mr.. Therrien also introduced us to the Director of Development and she said she would be in touch with me. I have already received an invitation from her to attend a reunion which will be held in San Antonio in October. It was very rewarding speaking with Ms. Carrabis.

We left to take our tram tour as it was scheduled for 1:30 and then came back to continue our tour of the 390th.
The gentleman on the right is Mr.. John Day who is a member of the 390th Bomb Group. He was at the museum today and we got to meet him and spoke to him for a good while.
Mr.. Day is pictured below with Manuel. He volunteers time here at the museum and is ready to answer any questions...He was with the "D" Group during WWII.
A B-17 on display.
Mr.. Day was a Ball Turret Gunner, which was the machine guns on the belly of the plane. He flew on the B-17 and is the only surviving member of his flight crew. He so proudly spoke to us of his time spent on this plane. He had many flights. It was great meeting him and listening to his experiences.
This is a picture of where he sat as a gunner. He even demonstrated to us how he situated his body in this very small space. He is a very interesting gentleman.
This is a great museum. We had a very good experience here and met some very nice people.
We are so proud of My Father's participation with the 390th Bombardment Group, 571st Squadron. We now know he sacrified a lot to protect our country....This wonderful Country we Live in. Thanks to All The Veterans!
Until Thursday....when we will return.
