After our visit with Colonel Bushong, we took the 390th AMARG Tour. This is a tour by motor coach of the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Mountain Air Force Base. We again had Tom, the Narrator we had on Tuesday. He again was great....really knows all these aircrafts so well.
This boneyard has approximately 4000 aircraft on the 2000+ acres....it is an incredible place. It has aircraft of all armed forces and also has many many aircraft parts.
Many of the aircraft are rebuilt and some are used as part to repair other aircraft. This was a great tour.
The organization of these aircrafts was very impressive...
These are engines...and other parts.
Many are covered to protect them from the sun and other weather conditions.
The C-5 is a huge aircraft....many are here.
Half of a plane, either being repaired or used for parts...
Helicopters.....
A Fighter in Flight as we toured...
Awesome tour....well worth our time.
We were really close to this casino so we went to have lunch there. It was a delicious buffet.
Manuel won about $175....I lost $40. We had fun!
Back at the RV Park, as I walk Charlie, I found these two lemons that have dropped from a tree. They are still green so will have a taste of them later.
Tomorrow, we will move on from Tucson. We have had a great time here...will try to make it to Las Cruses, New Mexico.
