We visited the Selena Memorial. We had passed by this memorial several times but never made time to stop. It is a very nice memorial to such a super Tejano singer, whose life was cut so short. She was only 25 when she was killed by the president of her fan club.....such a shame. Her songs still play by Tejano radio stations.
Granite bricks pay tribute to her. This one is her parents'. What a terrible loss.
We head further south on Shoreline Blvd and see that the Memorial Coliseum which held many many events has been demolished. This is all that is left of it now.
We drive by the American Bank Center....really nice area.
The last time we were here was when Oscar got his Masters Degree last December. As sure miss Oscar. Missed him at the Family Reunion last week.
The old Nueces Courthouse....the city can not decide what to do with this beautiful old building.
Then we drive by the USS Lexington Naval Ship. We saw a replica of it while we were at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. last February.
We will have to come back to tour this beautiful Naval Ship one day.
The Gulf Coast.
There will be more pics of our day in Corpus.....
