Basketball Hall of Fame Museum

This museum is named after James Naismith.  He was a local resident of Springfield who was a Physical Education  Instructor.  He was encouraged by the Director of Education to come up with a plan that would fill the empty space between fall football and spring baseball.  In 1891, the game he invented was basketball and this changed American Sports.
