We took the Going-To-The-Sun-Road at Glacier Park's West entrance. This is a 50 mile drive from West to East. You will see what an incredible area this is and the pictures do not do this beautiful scenery any justice. It is just a beautiful drive through the rivers, lakes, mountains and forest...
I will post different areas. This is The Lake McDonald, which is the largest and longest lake...
This sign depicts each of the mountains in the picture above...
The water is really cold...it is snow water.
Manuel taking pics....we both had a camera so we had so many pictures.
The last fire in this area destroyed a lot of the forest....
Many trees are burned but many are beginning to come back...
There are so many falls here from the snow melting. There is still quite a bit of snow on some mountains.
I went down this path for some pictures....
This is what I saw....people are just enjoyed the area by the river, having lunch.
A shot from the bridge above...
Another pic, looking the other way off the bridge.
More falls....
Another stop we made, of course we made many stops along the way.
Back on the road...
It does not matter which way you look, there is a beautiful site in any direction you look
On way to tour the area.....neat looking.
A lot of debris comes down from the mountains with the avalanches....
The roads are narrow and if you do not watch where you are going, you will end up over the cliff!
We are about half way to St. Mary.
Half way is Heavens Peak. Just awesome up here.
More to come....
