George and Nancy picked us up and we headed to the Historic District. This city is so beautiful and it is surrounded by rivers, lakes and mountains which make it even more beautiful.
Our first stop was at Hudsons, established in 1907 and is world known for their delicious hamburgers. Their home made pies were also delicious! George and Nancy highly recommended this and they were absolutely correct!
This restaurant is Family Owned and operated by Family members...
This is a very tiny restaurant with a long counter and people are just waiting to get a seat.
People wait as long as it takes to get fed here. Great place!
We then walk through town making many stops....great shops, too.
Many artists in this area.....most shops carry local artist items.
These sidewalk statues are all made by local artist and are for sale.
Nancy and I shop some more while the guys find a comfortable seat (below).
These colorful flowers hang throughout the streets....they are so pretty!
Nancy and I pose Mudgy...
The flowers are so beautiful ...
I bought this "Whimseys" wood spirit birdhouse by a local artist, Bill Oswald. He begins with a 20 inch diameter pine log. Each birdhouse he creates has a different expression. This was my favorite. I love this...
After all the walking, George and Nancy took us on a tour of the Spokane River and Coeur d' Alene Lake on their awesome pontoon boat. More to come.
