We drove a short 20 miles early this morning. As we had thought, the fires in Colorado Springs are not any better and may be a little worse than they were yesterday. Today all they had was breaking news about the fires. They say there are a total of 12 fires in the state of Colorado. The one in Colorado Springs has been named Waldo Canyon and it is the biggest.
Since Buckley is a new base, they do not have the specific address for the FamCamp so we unhooked the car and Manuel went on to find it. They do not even have an office yet on the grounds and they are closed on Sundays. Tomorrow we will go find the building to pay....
As I wait for him, I saw the VW and thought it was cute.
Also saw this big, big rabbit....
By 9 am, we are parked and ready to just rest today. They have really nice pads with full hook-ups and 50 amps. They have planted some grass but it is so dry...
They have a man made lake....
They were shooting all day today.
The only building up here is the restroom/laundry room. Brand new and very nice.
Duty calls so I go out to walk Charlie....it was 101 today but it was very breezy and humidity is about 9%.
It has just rained a little and made it really nice and cool.
Look what I found as I walked Charlie...a snake has shed its skin....it was a big one!
We are comparing for length....
I do not think it is a rattle snake but do not know what kind it is.
This is the look from our window. Will have to find out what these huge balls are. They have them in several parts of the base.
it rained as we were heading out to take a ride late afternoon. it is a welcomed site and hope it has rained where the fires are. They desperately need the rain to help put out the fires.
There are no trees at this park but it is going to be a really nice park.
Further down in the base area....more huge balls!
The Chapel
They have a nice airplane display...
We really enjoyed the cool afternoon....
Charlie thought it was too windy....
Had a great Day!
