Today, we drove 400 miles and it was a really nice drive. We went thru Colorado, Wyoming and on to South Dakota. As always, I took a bunch of pics on the way....
When we passed each state line, we noted the weather began to change. Colorado had been breaking record hot days everyday, highest being 104. Well, the highest we had today was 85 and it felt great.
As we passed Fort Collins, where there is another big fire that has been going on for weeks, the skies were smoky.
I remembering seeing this before when we came here over ten years ago....
This guy is hard at work....
We passed through several old, small towns...nice.
Did not quite get a close up of the horses in the water....cooling off, I guess.
Charlie has been very comfy all these long drives.
A firework stand that is open....fireworks were prohibited in Colorado.
Wonder what happened to these trees....most are dry.
This reminds me of My Brother's trip with his co-workers from Corpus Christi to Sturgis. They drove their bikes all the way. They loved it.
I missed the South Dakota State sign but got this one.
We have seen at least three of these signs with what looked like new fire trucks. Will have to check it out once we get to Rapid City.
Steep mountain passes, then downhill!!!
A little bitty church....
The three wise men or three amigos??!! Kennedy, Reagan, and Bush
They have a plane museum....
This is a very nice FamCamp....
We are studying our to do list and brochures....it is beautiful out, cool and breezy.
More to come...
