We decided to get tickets for a couple days on the Hop-On Hop-Off sight seeing, double decker bus. It has 45 landmark stops. It has 4 different loops so we will just get off where we want to get off. We figured this was the best way to see the sights. As we rode around, I took pictures. I tried to always sit at the front of the bus to take pictures but it did not always work out. Adela and I made friends with almost each of the drivers. She was even helping pass out the earphones and the brochures. Manuel and Frank sat in the back making friends, too.
The White House.
The Washington Monument.
The Abraham Lincoln Memorial.
The Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
There are many many beautiful buildings. Wish I could remember them all as our guided tour mention them. Oh WELL!
We went over the Potomac River many times.
The mobile food trucks line up along the square.
The Pentagon.
This is an Air Force Monument. It signifies jets in flight.
The traffic is heavy now.
This is the National Archives Building.
The FBI Building.
A beautiful church.
This building is almost complete. The guide said it will be the African American Museum which was financed in part, (yes, in big part) by Ms. Oprah Winfrey.
Some of China Town….
Off the Big Bus and We are ready for some dinner….
After a long day in D.C.,on our way to the base, we stopped at this Diner to have dinner.
Great food here and we had a very nice waiter. We commented to him that Comadre has decided she likes Connecticut Ave so much that she would like to buy a house here. He said this was a great place to live so we will see what happens! She is ready to get herself a little Smart Car to get around D.C. We are having some fun!!
