After having breakfast at the motel, we were “On The Road Again”. Our destination today will be the Navy Lodge Bethesda, Maryland. These are just a few pictures along the ride. It was kind of a gloomy day so pictures are not very clear.
We made a quick stop at the Visitors’ Center in Virginia.
Back on the road….
We arrived in Washington DC at about 4 p.m. We checked in, then went to dinner. After dinner, as Frank and Manuel rested, Adela and I begin our planning on things to do here. This hotel is a very busy place as it houses a lot of the patients that come to Walter Reed Hospital. People were very friendly and helped us in our planning. We walked a few blocks to the USO and also got a lot of information there. Driving in DC was our biggest concern but one couple told us that it was best to drive as we were so close to the National Mall, which is where we wanted to go. With the GPS handy at all times, we were able to guide Frank everywhere we drove. Parking was not a problem as we seemed to get good parking everyday. Our first adventure was to tour the United States Capitol and that went really well. Pictures will be in the next post. We had great cool weather while in Washington DC.
