An Evening with Dave & Kathy Peters

Dave and Kathy Peters, whom we met at Red Bay, Alabama in October, were in San Antonio for a few day. They called us before they arrived in town and we made plans to meet them on the 3oth. Manuel and I went by Admirality RV Resort to pick them up at about 5 pm. Dave fixed us an Old-Fashioned drink and it was really good. Manuel was the designated driver so he had a 7 up. We visited for a while then headed to Downtown San Antonio. Below are some pictures.

We went on the River Boat tour of San Antonio. The River Walk was beautifully decorated and below, you will find pictures but they did not come out very clear. They seem to be dark but I still posted a few. We had a great evening with Dave and Kathy.

this was our Tour Guide. He was an excellent narrator.
Many many lights ....

Dave and Kathy enjoy the sight....
A beautiful Christmas Tree adorns the island at the RiverCenter Mall.
The RiverCenter Mall....

They had a lot of barges working that night so we were able to ride after a short wait.
We all enjoy the ride.
Manuel and Kathy wait in line. The folks in front of us were from Minnesota and were vacationing in San Antonio. They were loving the weather here since it was 16 below 0 in Minnesota. I enjoyed talking to them.
More lights....
A pose on the RiverWalk with the Tower in the background. It is hard to see as the picture is kind of dark.

The area was beautifully decorated.
There were multiple horse-driven carriages. They had different colored lights.
We drove by Alamo Plaza where they had a beautiful Christmas tree with the Alamo in the background.
It was awesome....
We had dinner first at Mi Tierra. Dave had been stationed at Lackland back in the 50's and had memories of Mi Tierra so Manuel and I wanted to take him back there. He was amazed how much the restaurant has grown and changed. He had cabrito (goat) for dinner and said it was great. We all enjoyed our dinner. The place was also beautifully lite with Christmas lights and pinatas. Below will be more pictures of the restaurant.
The Trio was playing songs as requested . This guy posed so I could take his picture.
The waiter took a couple of seconds from his busy job to take our picture. They were super busy this night.
We waited at the Restaurant Bar while we had to wait in line. The waitress at the bar took our picture.
Dave and Kathy were having a great time.
The panaderia (bakery) had some awesome pastry. They have homemade sweet bread, candy and tamales.
The pinatas were just beautiful. They decorate all of the entry ceiling. Very colorful!
We had such a great time with Kathy and Dave.
This picture was taken on the Market Square area before entering the Mi Tierra Restaurant.
