A Day at Padre Island

We made plans with Robert, Sylvia, Arnold and Liza to go spend some time at Padre Island last night.   We got up early, had breakfast and then headed out to meet them.  

This is the view from our rig’s dining table.  Manuel and I enjoyed our coffee waiting for the girls to wake up.  It was a beautiful morning.

There are some folks fishing early this morning.

And then….she is up!

We follow Liza and family thru the sand dunes…..

There are not many people around yet…..

 

Larissa, Arianna, and Olivia sure enjoyed the sand.   They made castles and other stuff.

Liza, Isabela, Olivia and Lari…..                Arianna is apprehensive of the sand…..

Sylvia leads the girls to the water……we had so much fun.   They will only get their feet wet…

The search  is on for sea shells…..

This is a Mariachi Cowboy…..I wanted to take a picture of the front but was afraid to.. he looked weird.

  

Arianna is tired so Manuel walks her back to the picnic area.  Oops….Olivia ACCIDENTLY fell with the waves….

She is all wet and sandy!

 

There were huge waves….very nice!  It is a beautiful day, very sunny.

Arianna finally got used to the sand.

Lari and Olivia have a great time as the waves chase them; then they chase the waves…..

Arianna is out!

The Mariachi Cowboy has changed wardrobe, or at least the hat and sandals.

The surfer comes into the water….he had some huge waves to ride.

This is Bob Hall Pier.   Many are fishing there.

Lari attempts to write her name on the sand over and over as the waves come and erase it.

She is having such a great time!

Then they both pose.   We are really enjoying the granddaughters.

These are taken on the way from Padre Island to the base.

We enter the Naval Base.

We are home……will stay posted.

After taking an afternoon break, we take grandpa to Uncle Robert’s house so they can attend the rosary for his friend.  I head back out to the park where we take a walk down the jetties towards a fishing pier.  We spot this sailboat.

Nice boats….                                          We made it to the South Pier.

The girls had so much fun walking back and forth to pick up rocks to throw in the water.

It was quite a walk to the pier.

Arianna is in deep thought…..wonder what she is thinking of doing next?!

And now they walk back with more rocks….

and more rocks…..they just don’t get tired.

All the way back from the pier, they pick up rocks and throw them in to the water.

We walk the area…..                              Came across these two beautiful pelicans!

We head back to the car to go to the RV.   We are getting hungry.

They spot one other playground on the military base school…..yep, we are headed there!

An hour later, we head to the RV.   Nice sun setting by now.   We are too hungry to wait for it to set.

They rest and watch TV while I cook.

I am tired!   We will go to bed a little earlier today.   We have a funeral to attend tomorrow.
