Monday in Corpus

Today, we woke up early to attend Manuel’s friend’s funeral service.   They had the church service at about 10 am and then we followed the procession to the gravesite.  The girls and I just stayed in the car because I did not want them to experience a funeral, so I told them grandpa was at a meeting.   When we heard the gun salute, I told them it was firecrackers. Sorry but I told them two lies today.

After that, we went to Driscoll, which is about 30 miles away, to visit Manuel’s older brother, Israel and his family.  We visited for a good while then headed to my sister’s, Josie, house for a visit with her family but they were not home.   He headed back to the Naval Base in Corpus to the RV.  I had forgotten my camera.

Lari wanted to go fishing but the wind was very strong so we opted to take them to one of the playgrounds and spend about an hour there.    We had made plans to go to dinner with Robert and Sylvia later.

We went over to Robert and Sylvia’s and then headed out to Senor Jaime’s.   This is a very nice restaurant and the food was very good.

Sylvia’s niece’s In-Laws own the restaurant and she was very nice to send us complimentary strawberry sopapillas.  Wow…..they were delicious.

We had a great evening and then headed home where the girls are really hyper because of the delicious dessert.  We will sleep late tomorrow and then head out at about noon to Rockport.

We are having a great spring break!
