Steve and Sandy had been camping in Hondo, TX for a few days. They moved to our backyard today. They arrived about noon.
When they parked, they noticed that they had a fuel leak. They work on stopping the leak....
They succeeded after a while.
Yoda watches as they work. The squirrels and a cat are teasing him so he wants out!
I walk back to the house to check on what I am fixing for lunch.
After the job is complete, we come in for a late lunch. Lunch was good and we just enjoy visiting.
At about 3 pm we decided to take them downtown to the Alamo. We walked the grounds and saw a film.
Can't take pictures inside so I take a couple from the outside.
Very interesting and a lot of history here.
This boganvillia is in full bloom.....surprised it did not freeze.
Enrique Esparza is traced on the Esparza Family Tree. Robert, Manuel's younger brother has done a lot of research on the Esparza Tree. This picture of Enrique, tells a local paper here how he remembers when his father, Gregorio Esparza was killed during the Battle of the Alamo. He was a Texan fighting the Mexicans. He was about 9 years old and he vividly remembered.
This live oak tree is hundreds of years old....beautiful tree.
Clara Driscoll was from Driscoll Texas, where Manuel and I were born and raised. She was one of two women who preserved the Alamo with monetary donations.
This is the backside of the Alamo.
We leave the Alamo grounds and Steve and Manuel pose for a picture.
Sandy, too.....
The U S Post Office and Courthouse Building....
We are pretty hungry by now so we head out to Market Square to eat at Mi Tierra Restaurant.
A mural of the Singer, Vicky Carr and Mexican Singer, Vicente Fernandez.
Steve chatting with ladies that are out on the town. On of the girls had a banner that read "Girls night out".
Just pictures of the restaurant. Mini piñatas and loads and loads of lights....
Hook um Horns! says Steve.
More piñatas......so colorful.
We drove back by the Alamo on our way home.
Back at home, we drink coffee and play cards. Steve does not like taking pics.
Tomorrow, we may tour a couple of the Missions. More to come.

Alright on the Tiffin. Your friends are in good company. Mi Tierra looks different than at Christmas!
Manuel,
See, if you leave the gate open, a Phaeton will drive in!! I am sure if you host them in San Antonio, they will soon agree that Texas is a great state to visit and tour in.
Have fun,
Richard & Patsy
Yes, We only allow Tiffins, mostly Phaetons and a couple of buses. The Algires hosted us in Washington, so now we hosted them. That is how it works! We have had a great time.... We are now expecting the Norths to come in.
