Visiting With The Norths

Chuck and Lorraine arrived on Tuesday afternoon and got all set up.   I was not home when they arrived but took a couple of pictures when I got home.....

It is so nice to see them again.  We had not seen them since last February, when we went to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, after being in Quartzite for about a week.   We had a great time then.

Today, Wednesday, we headed out to the Riverwalk.   It is pretty chilly (39 degrees).  It is forecasted to rain so we will see.   We were going to take a tour on the River Barge but they are closed due to the weather...   We are disappointed but decided to walk part of the Riverwalk....

And on to Mi Tierra Restaurant...for a late lunch.

The Norths 029

We had a great lunch and then walked around Mi Tierra and found even more murals...We met the Artist who painted all these murals.....he took the time to give us a tour of the Mural wall which was about 50' long.  It pictures many locals and visitors to Mi Tierra.

The Artist is in the center of this pic...       Bill Clinton....

I don't know all, but I do know Don Francisco, bottom center and to his right, Dr. San Martin,  an Ophthalmologist who had his office next to the Doctor's office I used to work for.

The Accordionist, Flaco Jimenez, center left.    Selena, Tejano Singer from Corpus Christi.   Jennifer Lopez portrayed her in the movie, "Selena".

This is the Cantu Family, Founders of the Restaurant.  They are the lady in the blue dress and the grey haired man in glasses.  Their daughter is to their right.  The four sons are right below them in the blue suit, the beard, the hat and the brown suit.  We met the bearded man and the man in the hat.....  Very friendly guys.

The Norths 034

This has George Lopez in the red shirt and the founder of the Old San Francisco Steakhouse in the black hat in the center, Henry Cisneros who was the first Hispanic Mayor of San Antonio, pictured on the upper right corner in the red tie.  This was very interesting.

We then spent some time at Verizon so Chuck could get his connection card updated.  After that we went to Crackle  Barrel and then headed home.   We had a great day and got a lot done.   We were home at about 8:30.   We will see what tomorrow brings.   They are predicting sleet so we will watch the weather before going out on the town....    More to come!
