Today, we thought we would stay out of Niagara Falls and ride over to the town of Fort Erie, which is only a few miles away.
We drove along the Niagara River...
A view of the Buffalo, NY skyline across the Niagara River, Canada.
We arrived at the Monument which stands over a mass grave that was uncovered during the Fort's restoration.
Here lie the remains of 150 British and 3 American soldiers killed during the fighting of 1814.
This is a beautiful park which runs for miles and miles along the Niagara River/Lake Erie.
We walk across the street to visit the Old Fort Erie.
The British Soldier.... The Iroquois Warrior....
The Soldier in the middle is a Loyalist Ranger...
Women at work at the fort.
The Officer's Quarters....the living room, dining room.
The bedroom....
The kitchen.....
The commissary....
this was a very interesting tour.....
This is the beautiful sight as we walk out of The Old Fort Erie, Lake Erie.
And a view of Buffalo, NY across the Niagara River/Lake Erie.
There is some energy being produced right on Lake Erie.
St. Paul's Church was mentioned in the tour...it was built from the Onondaga Flintstone from the Fort.
Then we passed this church which looked very interesting....
We had a very nice day. The day was sunny but cool with temp in the low 70s. Love the weather!
