People are out boating on this beautiful, clear and sunny day. We are diving to meet Vicki and Allison to drive to Rochester Hills to visit the century old Yates Cider Mill.
We arrived at Yates Cider Mill....
Vicki poses at the entrance..... This mill was founded in 1863 and has been in operation about 150 years.
Everyone that visits here walks out with apple something (cider, pies, apples, etc).
Manuel, Janet, Vicki, Allison and George pose for me....
The original walls....
The apple presses....squeezing all of the juice out of the apples....
They said that it takes 39 apples to make one gallon of cider.
We bought a Dutch Apple Pie, fruit logs, cider and donuts and....
then headed outside to the tent to eat. Man, was that good stuff!
Then we walk the grounds....this is the railway that is used to transport the apples from the orchard to the mill.
Another goodies shop....
The water mill is fed from this creek which is fed off the river....
Allison, Vicki and I pose by this beautiful river.
Mom & Daughter.... Allison...
Three generations....Granddaughter, Grandma, and Mom.
George and Manuel enjoy the sights....
A view from the river to the Mill....
We pose as farm animals....Me, Vicki, Janet and Allison.
Backside of the mill....
The water powered gristmill...
This was an awesome place to visit....
We spent time at Vicki's until Bill got out of work so we could go eat at this highly recommended restaurant by the bay.....
People drive up in their boats to have dinner here.....
This will be our last evening together before we head out tomorrow morning.
We had a wonderful week here at Algonac State Park and New Baltimore, Michigan.
