We took a lunch break at Georgie's Diner. They had some great food.
Manuel takes a picture and I am on the left between those two guys....
Then we set the timer....
Is there hope after drinking this water???? I WISH!
This is a very nice park and they tell us about all the history here. How Ponce de Leon discovered this area and the spring water that he felt allowed him to live longer.
They had gorgeous looking Peacocks.....
The White Peacocks are very rare...
Ponce de Leon... (de Leon is my mother's maiden name???!!!)
They had a show where they shoot an actual cannon ball...
He blows into this shell and sends out notice that he is about to shoot the cannon ball.
He prepares the cannon ball...
He lights the match to ignite the cannon...
You can see the smoke as the cannon is shot..
and the smoke.....it is very loud!
He asked us to come closer to see...the cannon is still smoldering.
Back to more of this area....
The Timucuan Tribe of Indians is having a show also....
Their canoe.
There were several other areas but no pictures were allowed. They had the planetarium where they showed how they were able to tell time and seasons by looking at the stars, etc.
JoAnn bought a bottle of Fountain of Youth water for us and for them.....we are hopeful that this will make us younger!!! Still more pictures from yesterday to post....
