Today, our plan was to tour the Flagler College and the St. Augustine Lighthouse. JoAnn woke up feeling sick so Manuel, Bob and I set out to Georgie's Diner to have breakfast and run some errands. We got back home and since it was a gloomy and cool day, we decided to go take a nap and rest. It had sprinkled some today, too.
We woke up and headed out to tour the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The rain has stopped but it is kind of cool.
We got our discounted tickets with the audio radios for our self guided tour.
This is the Lighthouse Keepers' Home. The home housed the Head Keeper & Assistant Keeper's families.
They had several light displayed in this home....beautiful lights.
Some of these were ship lights...
The stairway in the house....
A displayed cannon...
This is the rudder from a shipwreck dating back to the 1700s.
The beautiful Lighthouse stands.
This is the cistern in the house. It had two water tanks in the home. It held rain water.
Manuel rests while listening to the guided tour radio.
Manuel comes up the stairway...
The grounds are surrounded by beautiful Live Oak Trees.
Manuel and Bob on the front porch of the Keepers home.
The side of the home. The kitchen was apart from the house. It is now a cafe.
The stairway inside the lighthouse. I did not climb this one; it was around 200 steps
What a beautiful place this is.
