Manuel checked early with the office about a space and she had 2 nights so we moved a couple of sites down. We took our picture before we headed out for the day.
We started off at this piece of art on the walk along the bay. This has the history of Pensacola.
Manuel and I thought these looked like jets in flight....
A retired Blue Angel.
This Navy plane is displayed in front of where we are camped.
We then toured the Pensacola Lighthouse. It is 191 feet. I did not climb.
They are resodding the Lighthouse's yard....Wish I had some of this grass to plant at my house!
The wisteria grows wild here. It is beautiful.
This is Fort Barrancas. Built by the Spaniards in 1698. The French, British and Americans later occupied the site to protect themselves from foreign invaders....
We also visited the Barrancas National Cemetery. Manuel and I got kind of emotional to visit this site. Even though it is so sad to see so many buried here, the place is so immaculate and beautiful.
We also visited Corry Station which is about 5 miles away. We have been looking for some military caps.
This looks like some kind of silo...not sure what it is.
some old buildings...many are still in use.
A beautiful park by the sea.
This was a judicial court....
Don't know what this is but it is a beautiful, old building.
Then we decided to go to the theater. This building is also a fitness center.
It is an old airplane hanger. They have put these old hangers to use.
The beautiful sunset before we entered the theater. So gorgeous. That is a church steeple on center left.
We had a very nice day. Now I am caught up with posting....I am tired. Good night!
