We made plans to meet up with The Srutkas at mile marker 307 at about noon today. We left our campground at about 10:30. Traffic on I75 was a bit congested. I guess this was because of the Easter weekend and now everyone is heading home.
This is our drive thru the base...a look at the City of St. Petersburg in the distance.
A closer look, just across Tampa Bay.
This base was just beautiful. We loved our stay here.
Base housing right off the beach area. I believe this is Officers quarters.
This must be the Base Commander's quarters. Beautiful homes.
We are about to exit McDill AFB.
The American, Florida and Military Flags fly proudly here.
Our drive on Hwy 27 was beautiful.
Oops! Someone rolled their car over! That may be way traffic was stacked for a bit there.
The roadside is full of flowers....oh, how I love to see these!
There seems to be a lot of patrols on the highway....
and another!
We met Bob, JoAnn and Precious at the Rest Area.
Back "On The Road Again"!
This must be horse country....they have beautiful ranches.
Eufloria...big boat!
We passed several Florida Citrus Centers....
We passed a couple of ranches that had horse cemeteries. I could not get a good picture but they had headstones made out of the fences they use to jump. I do not know what they are called.
Here are other cemeteries...
Small downtown area....
The Suwannee River....
We got to our destination, Wal-Mart. We will spend the night here and will head out in the morning to Panama City. We will camp at Tyndall AFB. This is right off St. Andrews Bay on the Gulf of Mexico. More to come on that tomorrow.
Here we are parked for the night.
There's 2 other coaches....while I took pictures, I talked to the ones in the white coach. They are from Dallas, TX and are heading to Key West, FL. I assured them they would love it there.
Good night.
