We unhooked the SUV and followed Dale home.
They used to live outside the city but the area has grown a lot. There is still a ranch across the street from their home.
Narrow, narrow turn into their private road.
Their beautiful yard. They have a couple of acres.
Dale goes to call his parents. His wife is in Austin with one of their daughters. This is the house where they entertain and have big parties. It is between the two homes. The Azaleas are just beautiful.
We had not seen Mr. & Mrs. Trepagnier in about 10 years. We always stay in touch but had not seen them.
Mr. Trepagnier invites us to have some of his home made wine. mmmmmmmm good! This is his wine making room.
It has grown since we last visited them. He used to make one kind, using only one bottle at a time. Now he makes three different kinds and three different bottles at a time.
They also grow all their fruits for the wines. These are black berries and grapes. They are fermenting.....
He stands proud by his wine supply..... I had two glasses of wine and Manuel had three. Very very good!
Then Mrs. Trapagnier gives me a tour of his artwork. She painted all these and many more throughout the years.
She does an awesome job. Beautiful artwork.
Then Dale gives us a tour of the grounds....This is his smoke house.
The grape vines, lemon and orange trees and fig, too. They also have huge pecan trees.
The black berries for the wine.
We walk towards the garden. They have a year round garden. Never buy any veggies at the store.
The 1940s tractor used for gardening.
In front of Dale's foot is a SNAKE! Yes...he says it is a grass snake....I don't like snakes.
He has two fishing boats....
All these flowers are on their yard......just beautiful.
Their beautiful bird. He said they found it in the yard about 10 years ago.
Dale cooked us dinner. He called is speckled trout from Coon Ass Country and shrimp. The best we have ever had! All you can eat, too.
We had a wonderful day visiting with The Trepagniers. We will see what tomorrow brings.
