We drove to La Conner which is about 10 miles away. The scenery was beautiful once again. The farmlands are so pretty.
There are many produce shops like this. They have all kinds of fruits and vegetables that are home grown.
This is a modern day bard....pretty fancy!
another stop we made was at the Snow Goose Produce. We bought fruits and veggies.
Manuel checks out the peppers....
and the fruits....all kinds of cherries.
They also had some nice looking salmon and fish but we were going to be out too long. We will buy some in the next couple of days.....
The waterfront at La Conner was very active with tourists and boats.....
This old barn sits at the edge of town by the waterfront.
This is the Rainbow Bridge along the Swinomish Channel.
The historic downtown area....
There are many, many shops, galleries, restaurants, etc. It is a very nice town.
The Church sits up above some of the shops.
More of the waterfront.
The colorful hanging basket....shades of purple.
This man was just as curious as I was. Smoking salmon at this restaurant. The pit is right off the sidewalk.
Some art....
Isn't this just gorgeous?!!
Some historic homes....
Nice old pickup....53 Chevy?
We stopped at this flower farm....it is a pick your own flowers..
some bouquets ....these are just beautiful!
A restored farm house.
another old barn....
As we stopped to see these donkeys....the couple that has also stopped is from Austin. We talked for a while. They told us of places they had visited and we shared what we had seen so far. They are also loving the sights here and the weather. It was about 80 degrees today for the high.
I think this little guy liked Manuel. He stuck around this corner for a while.
Now, you tell me, who is more bow-legged?? haha
We went home for a little while. Then we decided to go to the Swinomish Northern Lights Casino.
Steve and Sandy came by to see us. We made plans to see each other again this coming week. We had a nice time visiting.
We did pretty good at the casino and had a great time at the same time.
