We drove into Seattle at about 9:30 this morning. It sure was cool (60). For us that is cool, so we brought out the jackets.... The sky was overcast; thought it may rain. Our drive was about 20 minutes, not bad. Many folks here had recommended we take a bus, which is free, from across the RV Park but we did not. We drove to the Waterfront area. The high today was 77 degrees and sunny. The weather is very very nice.
I had my camera on the wrong setting, so not much color in these few pictures.....
There are several tunnels and bridges going into Seattle. Some are one lane....
Our first stop was Starbuck's to get warmed up....we had cereal this morning but no coffee.
Then we walk over to Pier 70. Not many people around yet....too early!
The Waterfront Restaurant and Bar....pretty empty right now.
Cruisers are out early.....
These folks are interviewing this guy...
I finally realize the setting on the camera and made a change....
The train goes right in front of the waterfront area.
I ask Manuel every once in a while to turn so I can take a picture and note his hand motions....
We check out our lunch options.....which we have a whole bunch!
There is a beautiful indoor carousel in Miner's Landing..rollercoaster and other rides.
There are also beautiful petunias all along the walk.
Odd shape.....
Before noon, we find The Quebe Sisters, who are from Fort Worth, TX practicing their songs.
People start to gather. They have an 11:30 till 1 lunch concert. While Manuel rests and waits for the music to start, I go off and take pictures....
Believe it or not, this is a guy! Yes, a SKIRT! He said he was from Victoria, TX....can you believe that?!
He dances while the band plays.... We dared not ask him any questions!!!!
The sun is out and the day is warmer now....
We are checking out things to do when our daughter comes to visit us at the end of August.
Another thing to do....
We have selected our lunch spot, The Crab Pot....they have grilled seafood!
We place our order and I take off to take pictures.....
Beautiful view of the skyscrapers from the restaurant.
A view of the opposite direction at the restaurant.
Manuel's salmon was delicious and my halibut was too.
We will definitely Ride the Ducks, too, when Corina comes. That is so much fun, we did that in Baltimore.
They are ready....and we will be ready in a few more weeks...
We leave the Waterfront and head to the Seattle Center.....
Nice clear view of the Space Needle, except for the trams electrical lines.
Awesome design at this museum....it is a huge area.
This is the Science Fiction Museum, same building as above.
Not the Electros! They sounded great, though.
They have an amusement park at this center.
another carousel, but outdoors. Larissa and Arianna sure would have a good time here!
Then we found the Monorail which we will also ride.
A pretty clown entertains the kids and us! Nice view of the Space Needle.
This is the Pacific Science Center. There is a lot to see in this area!
People just lay around this park. The weather is gorgeous now!
The Children's museum...what fun the kids have.
more.
They are having an art exhibit.
More beautiful flowers. You know that the ones I was calling mums are actually Hydrangeas, as I was told by Lorraine North. Lorraine, what are these? They are just beautiful!
These are the same as above. It is one stem.
More views of the Space Needle.
This artwork is just as we leave The Seattle Center. It is so beautiful. It is also a real tree.
We are now heading towards the freeway....
Back in one of the tunnels....
The view is beautiful as we exit the tunnel. Nice bridges...
This is a different bridge.
Another lake....
We had a great day in Seattle. We will leave tomorrow and drive to Larrabee State Park which is near Bellingham, WA. Our friends, Chuck and Lorraine North are from Bellingham. She emailed and regrets that they are not available to show us the area. They are in Alaska with several other friends, Mark & Sue, Bob & Vicki, Joe & Loretta, and others.

Connie,
Since you are looking for things to do with Corina, don't forget to set her up with a blind date with the Texan in the dress!! Since he says that he is from Victoria, I can give him a "high" recommendation..... because he probably is high!!
Looks like a great trip.
Safe travels,
Richard
