Manuel wakes up earlier than me and catches the Durango-Silverton Steam Train going by full of passengers.
These folks probably boarded at 7 am...remembering from when we went on the train the last time.
We board the Trolley right in front of the RV Park. I was trying to take a picture as she stopped and did not take a good one but the lady driver was very nice and asked me if I wanted to retake the picture. So I did and it came out good this time.
This is a pretty good service they have for residents and tourists alike. It is free, too.
Our first stop was at the Brickhouse Cafe. We had a good breakfast.
It is an old old house converted into a cafe. This 3' old man statue is in the restroom!
The trolley makes it's rounds every 20 minutes.....
We get off in the downtown area and walk and shop..... Nice old building.
We then get off at the Buckley Park area and get a snack and just rest....
This is the entrance to the College here.
They even stops at Wal-Mart and looks like it is packed with RVers.
Mountains....
The Animas River runs right thru the town. Nice sight. We got off at the River area to take pictures. There are a lot of people rafting.....the water is cold but they say it is warm because of the recent rains.....
We then stop at the Serious Texas Bar-B-Q place for a mid-afternoon lunch. It IS NOT Texas style as they think....
Mariachis on the roof top of the restaurant.....
Another funny sign in the restroom! ....and Deer Willie is here!
They really honor Texas in this restaurant.....Texas or AM? I say TEXAS!
We head back to the RV Park and get dropped off! This was a very nice day in Durango!
We went back out for a ride and just enjoyed the rest of the day! This is a rally nice town to visit.
Tomorrow we will head out to Ogden, UT. We have a reservation at Hill AFB.
We will spend the 4th of July there and a couple more days.... we will keep posted.
