I took a picture of Manuel this morning. It was 47 degrees at about 6 am. I went back under the covers. We later started the heat pump until we warmed up.
We took a driving tour in to Pendleton. It is a very scenic drive but kind of nerve wrecking for me. We went over the Umatilla Mountains and boy they were all downhill for us. Beautiful views, though.
Look at those little bitty trucks down below....way down below!
This area is gorgeous....check out the little bitty roads. Ay, Ay, Ay!
Here we go!
Down at the bottom of the mountain is the Wildhorse Resort and Casino. We made a quick stop so I could calm down (ha ha!)
The RV Park is really nice and there were a lot of RVers checking in.... There were also some dry camping.
We go in to check it out.... Hey, I WON $100!! Manuel won $10! We did pretty good!
We continued our trip into Pendleton and this is a view of the town.
At 4 pm every Friday, they shut down two blocks of the downtown for a Farmers Market. They are still setting up so we continue to drive thru the town.
Nice looking church.
Most homes are on an incline.....Nice old homes...
We take this curvy road up a higher hill...
another church.
More of the Historic Downtown area.
We are back to the Farmers Market and walk the streets. Betty Boop!! Cute!
This is a very colorful Mexican Restaurant.
1883.....that is old!
This is a saloon....the side faces another street.
This is the same building which is a steakhouse.
Artwork on Main Street.
Beautiful and colorful flowers on the sidewalks.....
Fresh and home grown fruits and veggies from Oregon....
Not sure if these are homegrown......!
more of Downtown....
More statues.....a Roundup is going on!
Pendleton is home of the famous Pendleton Round-up. They attract some of the nation's best rodeo performers. During the Roundup, local Native Americans present the well-known Happy Canyon Pageant.
This is a very big arena.
Right across the Arena, went to eat at Mazatlan's. Some art at the Mexican Restaurant.
The food was very good....The place very pretty!
Beautiful murals.....
This is the town where the Owners of the Restaurant live part of the year....
We spotted this bus with this toad....looks like a mud racing buggy!
We are headed up the mountain and this guy is sure struggling. He is pulling three trailers!
up, up, up we go!
Beautiful valley!
We are down up the mountain and these Harleys are heading down the mountain.
We had a wonderful day today and will see what tomorrow brings!

Now Connie, are you thinking you would rather be in San Antonio where it was 105 the other day? Looks like you are having fun and seeing a lot of the country side.
