Another Day in Seattle

Today, Manuel stayed in and Corina and I drove to the Seattle Harbor.  We started our day at Starbucks and then just walked the Harbor.  We had a lot of sunshine but it was cool...

We approached the Locks.   There were gates in front of us and behind us.  These are then closed to trap the salt water from mixing with the fresh water.   The boats, ships, etc. are then raised by elevators about 8 feet so the waters do not mix.   I had never seen this before so it was very interesting.

The gates lock to trap the water....then we will be lifted.
