Since it was a bright and sunny day, we headed out to Mt. Rainier National Park early this morning.
we pass several lakes and rivers along the way which are beautiful sights. This is Alder Lake.
Our first viewing of Mt. Rainier this morning.....
We arrive at Mt. Rainier National Park and they have this limo on display...
Beautiful scenery as we drive up the mountain....
What a gorgeous scene...
Christine Falls, which I posted in last visit here.
We have arrived at Paradise Park.....
I take on to walking the Skyline Trail up to Myrtle Falls....Manuel heads to Paradise Inn for coffee.
A view of the Inn from the trail. The Cascades are in the background....
The valleys from the trail...That is a road in the center.
What a beautiful scene...
Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful is all I can say about this...
This is an active volcano and has the potential to erupt again at some unknown time!
I have arrived at my destination. I struggled getting here but I made it!
It was well worth the walk up here! What a scene!
The wild flowers are just beautiful. This area gets about 126 inches of precipitation a year. No wonder why it is so green and beautiful! No wonder it looks like paradise! Just awesome!
The trail continues for another 3 miles but I was afraid I would not make it so I turned back...
I asked a lady to take my picture since Manuel stayed behind....
I enjoyed the walk and take my time coming back to the Inn. It is just too gorgeous up here!
A view of Paradise Inn....again.
These are young trees....so perfect!
The smell of the flowers and firs is beautiful!
And back at the Inn.....he has had his coffee and snack and is waiting.
We then take a walk over to the Visitors Center where we will view a video of Mt. Rainier....
A view of other lodges from the center.
A view of Mt. Rainier thru the window.... This is what Winter looks like here.
More of the area.... more of the wildflowers....
I once again asked a lady if she would take our picture.....
We stayed at the park until about 5 pm and the clouds begin to set in....
The visitors center....the viewing area side.
We begin our drive back.....the Cascades.
The valleys are kind of scary for me......the roads are very narrow.
We stop along the way to take more pictures.....
The Nisqually Glacier....there are 26 glaciers formed by this mountain.
And another glacier....The river water is rushing and the sound is really nice.
We are back at the exit. What a wonderful day, once again.
More to come on a Sculpture Park we stopped at on the way home.....
