Our stay at McChord AFB has been very nice. Monday, we took a road trip to Port Angeles. The drive was beautiful. The day was really cool. The high was 80 degrees. Everyone we talk to says last week, which had days with 103 degrees was very unusual. They are used to temperatures in the 80s. This is very cool for us. I have had to wear a jacket the last couple of days.
We are about to drive on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. This is the 5th largest suspended bridge in the world.
It is a beautiful bridge. I will find out more on this bridge but it is about a mile or two long.
Some of these trees are beginning to turn their leaves.
This is a double draw bridge before Port Orchard. This was also a long bridge.
The mountains look very misty. The clouds are really low.
This was a nice community of train cars which are restaurants, coffee & ice cream shops.
A nice farm with its big barn....
The clouds are really low.....it looks like smoke but it is not.
A road side view of a town....
another big barn.....
We have arrived at Port Angeles and head to the ferry terminal....
When Corina comes to Seattle, we will take the Black Ball Ferry into Victoria. Our plan is to take the car only and stay in Victoria for a couple of days.
The cars and bikes line up to board the ferry.
Manuel inquires at the window....these ladies were very helpful.
I will post pictures of Port Angeles next. I had too many pictures....
