We went all day touring and Janet never mentioned that it was her Birthday. George happened to mentioned it almost at the end of the Day!
We got home and Manuel and I headed out to get some birthday cakes and ice cream.....
Happy Birthday, Janet!!!! We had fun with you today!! May you have many many more!
She sings along with us! What a fun Lady she is!!
This morning we headed out to take a ride on the "Lookout Mountain Incline Railway". What A Ride! Yes, Mark, What A Ride!!
This ride is on a 75% incline all the way up the mountain and you are sitting backwards. You are facing the down the mountain.
You get to a beautiful view as you travel up the mountain.
Ay! Chihuahua!!! It was a bit eerie looking down....way down!
You can tell by Janet's expression, too!
A hiking trail up or down the mountain.
This is what you see a we are almost to the top of the mountain.....this is the roof of the train!
Reached our destination....Lookout Mountain and these are the pulleys that work the trains.
They have 2 trains and the trains work as weight to pull each other up or down.
A look at the City. You can see 5 states from up here on a clear day!! Wow, this was awesome!
A close up....
There are beautiful homes all along the way up this mountain. Check out their daily view.
Another train coming up....
The Birthday Girl on Lookout Mountain....
Enjoying the sights....Janet is afraid to get too close to the edge...
Manuel poses for me..
We take a break at the snack bar and have drinks and snacks...
We are waiting for the train to come up for us to go back down.....half way up the path, there are two railroads where the trains have to meet exactly at the right place to balance the weight....the only cable is the pulley pulling each train up or down....amazing to me!
We meet the oncoming train then the track becomes one again....
I took a picture of the people behind us as we are sitting way up at the front.
What an experience this has been. What A Ride!
