We had a very busy week with doctor appointments as we prepare for our fall trip. On Wednesday, July 28, we attended the Texas State University-San Marcos Stellar Summer Institute Conference for teachers and school leaders at the Embassy Suites Hotel. My Nephew, Jason Aleman is about to Graduate with his Ph.D. As part of his dissertation, he coordinated and hosted key-note speakers from several Universities for this three-day conference. One of his speakers and the session we attended was by his older brother, Enrique Aleman, Jr., Ph.D.
Dr. Aleman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy and a Faculty affiliate in the Ethnic Studies Program at the University of Utah. He has published several articles. He is Co-Director and Co-Founder of The Adelante Partnership, working with elementary students in which they integrate higher education awareness into the students' school experiences and personal lives. Adelante: A College Awareness and Preparatory Partnership. Besides his University teachings, he has done many great things for his community in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Great job, Rick and Jason! Here are a few pictures of this awesome event! We are very proud of The Aleman Boys! They are my oldest sister's sons. She passed away 9 years ago from cancer.

We got to the Embassy/San Marcos about an hour early and headed to the dining room for coffee. Omar was up early having his breakfast.
We met Henry and Ida as we arrived so we enjoyed their company as we had coffee and breakfast.
