This Railroad Station was built in 1859. It is known that Abraham Lincoln arrived here by train in 1863 when he was invited by David Wills to dedicate the National Military Cemetery. This building also served as a hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg, transporting the wounded. The architecture on this building is very detailed.
The ticket booth...Manuel is trying to buy a ticket.
He bought a ticket and I am wondering where he is going. Could it be he is going home?!!
A replica of the Railroad Station as it used to be....
Painting by Dale Gallon. A view of Abraham Lincoln's visit to Gettysburg.
An old train, like the ones that traveled here.
The present Gettysburg Train Station.
Just across the street from the Historical Railroad Station is the Lincoln Diner, still in existence.
We decided to have lunch at the diner.....pretty neat.
The Lincoln Diner Menu.... The Lincoln Diner sign outside....
The Lambes....
As we leave, there is a waitress huddle on the right.....
As we were leaving, we saw this sign on the building next door on a very old building.
We had a great time here today. More to come.
