Next, we drove up Lookout Mountain to Point Park.
Beautiful entrance....This is where the Battle for Chattanooga took place in 1863.
A mural in the museum displays the Federal and Confederate armies fight the Civil War for Chattanooga.
These men portray the soldiers of that time and tell of guns used in this battle.
Note the guy in the middle, is barefooted....they are marching in the park.
Rifles used during the war...
The reenactment was well done.
Heading to the visitors center and gift shop....
Interesting stuff at the shop but I liked these!!
Manuel and Janet are looking at the stuff here.
By now, we are hungry and head towards the downtown area to eat. We saw these clothes all along a fence line. Interesting art!!!
Downtown streets are almost empty since it is Sunday.
We come up to the Pickle Barrel and since it looked so neat, we decided to eat here.
This place is very narrow but it has quite a bit of customers. The people next to us told us that this area used to be a sidewalk.
Hippies came in and added this part and made it a restaurant.
The restroom and then I took a walk up the stairs on this narrow staircase made of thin iron.
Looking down at Manuel.
and the rest of the people...
The ceiling...
The brick floor used to be a sidewalk.
Good place to eat....interesting, too!
We will now drive a few blocks to the Chattanooga Choo Choo Train Station.
