After Janet made a waffle breakfast for all of us, we headed into Haysville, VA which is only a couple of miles from the park.
All of these small towns have many pretty churches. Here a a few.
We walk the Historic District.
We toured the Historic Courthouse which is now a museum.
This is the dedication plaque on the tall monument in front of the Courthouse.
Then we went next door to the Hale-Wilkinson-Carter Home but it was closed today.
This hoe belonged to the only millionaire in Haysville. It is beautiful.
The backside of the home.
The Carroll State Bank built in 1907. As you can see, it is For Sale.
This squash was growing right next to the bank.
The Historic Family Shoe Store.
This is cute.....many found on buildings along the historic walk.
The Historic Hillsville Diner.
Taking a break on Main Street, Haysville, VA.
Nice mural....
We then drive to the Farmers Market...
All fruits and veggies are Virginia grown...
Then we had lunch at this place....
After buying all our grocery goods, we headed back to the park. Beautiful rolling hills!
Oh, we saw the Red Hill General Store so we made a stop here. Bought a few more things here.
Back on the road...
As we drive into the park...we spot the Lambe and Esparza coaches..... http://lambetravels.blogspot.com
These huge mushrooms are growing right along side our coach....
This small tree with some kind of berries is also along our coach.
We had a great day today. The high here was 80. The morning was in the 60s and a bit cool for me.

Just curious, but why do you call it Haysville?
I often get drawn back on the internet to this little town I once lived in. My family moved there while I was in High School to work the white pines. It was a culture shock for me having moved from Texas, I was the only Hispanic student at Carroll County High and was often bullied on the school bus with racial slurs. So I walked to and from school after that. I would have loved to stay and get to know more about this little town and the surrounding area which I thought was beautiful. I can still smell the fresh air and remember the warm sunsets that would let just the right amount of light shine through. I hope to one day travel across the U.S. and I know this will be on top of the list. Thank you for posting these pictures.
