Yesterday, Thursday, we drove from Arcata to Fairfield, California. It was a beautifully scenic drive. Below are some pictures I took along the way.
This is a beautiful Performing Arts building in Eureka.
Over the mountains and thru the woods to Travis AFB we go......We're on Hwy 101.
Drove thru the Redwood forest again and they have a lot of wood art along the way.
A small village way down below.
Still a lot of construction....this was a pretty tight road...
There are so many vineyards along this highway. We are driving thru the Napa Valley, which is very well know for its wines....
These pictures are of Geyserville.....nice little town. Did not stop, just passed thru.
The San Pablo Bay...really pretty.
We are passing thru Vallejo, CA and we are almost to our destination.
All right! We have arrived. The traffic was hectic when we passed Santa Rosa and I am glad we are here.
We parked and just relaxed. The FamCamp here is really pretty and so neatly kept. It is only $17 a night (not bad for California and so close to San Francisco.)
They have a lot of rabbits on the grounds here.
Today, Friday, we just rested, went to the BX & Commissary, camping world and rested some more. We will go to the movies on base tonight. It is 99 cents for movies. Tomorrow we will sightsee around the area and will wait until Monday to go into San Francisco. Until then....
