Saturday, The Campground Owners, had a hot dog and hamburger picnic for all the people staying at the park. Despite the drizzle the event went really well. The food was good and the camaraderie was great. Dovie in the red jacket and Paul in the foreground with the hat.
The rain continue thru the night. Manuel and I headed into Detroit which was about 2 miles away, just to try to take some pictures and check out the area.
We stopped at the Korner Post Restaurant.
We had some soup and salad. This is a nice little town.
More of the Cycle displays..
Motorcycle at the Korner Post Restaurant. All kinds of cycles are on display.
KC's Sweets Shop... pretty colorful place.
Wet out but did not stop the people from camping or boating.
Dovie and Paul's RV Park is in the Willamette National Forest and right by Mt. Jefferson.
Detroit Lake....
We are hoping that the rain stops since we will be back on the road tomorrow.
The mist on the mountains looks like smoke....
Sunday evening, we gathered for a pot luck. Again, we had a great time; it has been nice to see Dovie. We counted back and it had been over 50 years that we had seen each other. Wow! Time sure has flown by.
Dovie and Manuel attended elementary & junior high school in Driscoll at the same time ....
I was a bit younger then they were but I remember her well....
We met several of their friends. This guy made his own beer and got a blue ribbon....
This couple was very nice, too.
We had a wonderful time at Idanha, Oregon. We visited this morning with Dovie and Paul. We got on the road at about 10:30. We drove to Lincoln City, Oregon.
