This morning, we were on the road by 9:30 and drove about 270 miles to Vegas. We thought we may be stopping in Barstow and spend the night there, but Manuel decided to keep on going. We arrived in Vegas early and got set up.
This was not a very scenic drive since it was a drive thru the desert. Reminds me of our trip last winter....spent in the Arizona desert. Anyway, here are a few pictures. As we left Bakersfield, the fields of vegetables look pretty green.
Nice looking mountains....
There is an area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains that has a bunch of energy producing windmills....
These guys are Texans....they wave as they pass us. They are wearing Longhorn jackets...
Then we see them as they are stopped here....
More beautiful mountains.
Our son's first car was a 1968 Chevy Nova like this one, except it was blue.
My Chauffer.....
A long, long road ahead.
First sight of a casino along the way...
And another....
Las Vegas ahead....we are driving on I 15 to North Vegas to Nellis Air Force Base.
Crooked pictures....hard to take pictures as I co-pilot!!!
We arrived at Nellis AFB.
The park is pretty nice. I will take more pictures of the base tomorrow.
After dinner, we decided to go to the Commissary and BX.
The sun was setting....what a sight.
We will check out the base tomorrow. On Wednesday, we will go stay at Bally's for three nights. I called them on Sunday to see if we could get a complimentary room and they offered us three night. We will leave the Coach at the Base.
