The Pittocks began planning the Mansion in 1909 and completed construction in 1914. He was 73 years old when the Mansion was completed. He only lived 5 years in the mansion before his death. He died in the home.
Several generations lived in the mansion until 1958.
The mansion has many windows and you have awesome views like this from each window.
This is a 16,000 sq. ft. with 30 rooms, we viewed 23 of them. We did not get to tour the servants quarters.
It sits on 46 acres and sits 1,000 feet above the city's skyline.
You can see Mt. Hood in the far right...it blends in to the clouds.
People come and picnic in the backyard grounds. That is open to the public.
The landscape is just beautiful....
We enter to take the tour...this is a very modern home, even if it was built in 1914.
Beautiful stairs....we toured three of the four floors.
Many rounded walls and beautiful architecture...
More pictures taken from the opened windows...
The Enunciator....phone system. Names of family members remain on the phones.
Pictures of pictures....Mr. Henry Pittock and Mrs. Georgiana Pittock.
A couple of the flowers in the gardens....too many to post.
A picture of a picture of the Pittock Mansion.....
What a great tour and beautiful Mansion.
