We drove into town early this morning to take two tours. Our plan was to first ride on the famous cable street car. There was already a long line but it went pretty quickly. We both had a lot of fun riding on this Streetcar.
We got to stand on the side of the Trolley and of course, we were in the very front. I took some pretty good pictures, I thought, but I had to hold on to dear life!!! What fun!
This guy entertains while you wait in line. Manuel thought he was going to sit inside!
I got him to stand with me. This is the line as we left on the Streetcar.
These trolley are waiting to be loaded up with tourists.
We are heading up the hill!
and further up the hill....
We are almost there....
We made it! Now we are going down the hill! Notice how close this guy is on the oncoming trolley!!
What a beautiful sight from atop the hills....
Up and down the hills we go....
Another trolley is coming towards us. We will have to squeeze in or we will touch booties!!
Very close!!
Up another hill....
and another!
We made it all the way up!
And now down hill we go!!!!
Beautiful buildings along the way...
Another form of tourist transportation....
Up and Down! Up and Down!!
We are headed towards the Downtown area....
Beautiful buildings.....My camera was crooked, not the buildings.
These two girls are going to get on that trolley.....they better hurry up!
They barely made it!
We are at our destination in Downtown San Francisco. We were standing right in front of that couple. They were really enjoying the ride, too! I am sure we blocked some of their view, though.
We walked the downtown streets and looked in some of the stores. We then found our place to have lunch.
These Streetcars are ready to take people back...
We selected Tad's Steakhouse to have lunch but once there, we decided to have a good breakfast. We had the San Francisco Omelet and and an order of pancakes. We shared each others plates. Man, it was GOOOOOD!
Back for more walking....
Then we got in line to ride back to the Fisherman's Wharf.... this is how they turn the Streetcars. The push them on to this turntable,
Then they turn the car and make it ready to go the opposite direction.
Ed, Manuel said that this is the same concept you had at your HICO Plant.
We head back and are facing this Streetcar. We rode on the outside again. This was the best spot for picture taking....
We are heading back uptown...
Up and down the hills again. This is so much fun!
Squeeze tight!!
We made it over the hill and the sight is spectacular.
Some zoomed in views....
Gorgeous buildings...
Squeeze in again!
A beautiful Church.
Up we go...
Down we go...
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!
We have arrived and took our picture when everyone got off. We had a great time!
We had a couple of blocks to walk back to our car....Nice VW!
Beautiful Olive Tree!
More nice buildings...
Business on the first floor and homes on top...
They also offer Fire Truck Tours....it is loaded with people ready for a tour.
This was a wonderful experience. We will now go take a Double Decker tour.
